Chequer Inn, 41 High Street, Steyning, West Sussex, BN44 3RE WEBSITE I visited the Chequer Inn Steyning at the week end Superb range of great cask conditioned ales Lovely restaurant with huge servings PC The Cock Inn Ringmer Nr Lewes East Sussex WEBSITE Excellent pub with nice gardens, good beer, super food,very friendly Score 8/10 Kings Head Catsield Nr Battle East Sussex Nice pub you must try the smoked Haddock Tarte Excellent avoid the Bangers and mash (powdered mash) Bangers great. Pitty. Still did not spoil a good day. Score 7/10 No Website The Lord Nelson, Trafalgar Street, Brighton WEBSITE Don't be put off by the scruffy interior, this is a first rate pub with the whole range of Harvey's beers in great condition plus a fine selection of ciders and good value wines. Beth's food is fantastic and watch out for art shows in the gallery. Score 9/10 The Merrie Harriers Cowbeech Nr Hailsham East Sussex WEBSITE Lovely village pub serving real ales, excellent wine list, super food In great surroundings. Worth driving out of your way to. Score 9/10 The Old Oak Arlington Nr Hailsham East Sussex Lovely pub, in great location good range of beers, good bar menu Score 6/10 The Old Court House Main Rd, Westfield, Hastings, East Sussex Village pub, Guest Real Ales, good pub food, pub games.Great atmosphere Score 9/10 The Plough Inn Udimore Rye East Sussex Country pub with good beers and very good food at a reasonable price. The Plough Upper Dicker, Nr Hailsham East Sussex Nice pub, large garden, extensive well priced menu good food Score 8/10 Pilot, Meads Street, Eastbourne, East Sussex Suburb pub, serving good fresh food in friendly atmosphere Score 7/10 The Ram The Street, Firle, Lewes, East Sussex Good village pub with guest real ales, excellent wine list, excellent gastro food menu, changed daily. The kitchen does not appear to be well organised and there can be a long wait for food when only moderately busy. Well worth trying but allow plenty of time. Score 8/10 The Royal Oak Pett Rd, Pett, Hastings, East Sussex Nice village pub with Harveys beers Score 6/10 The Ship Inn Cuckfield West Sussex Quite nice pub with ‘probably’ the most miserable landlord in the country Score 4/10 Squirrel Inn, North Trade Road, Battle, East Sussex This roadside pub is on the A271 just west of Battle. I have a weekday lunch there regularly (closed Mondays) and have never been disappointed. Food cooked to order always includes fresh day fish from Hastings. Bouncy castle in summer and garden with tables. Score 8/10 The Star Waldron Nr Heathfield Great, friendly village pub serving good food at very reasonable prices Score 7/10 Swan Inn Fittleworth West Sussex WEBSITE Lovely pub, good food Score 7/10 The Swan, Woods Corner Dallington East Sussex Had a tasty lunch at this country pub last Sunday in their large knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff - and you can get Harvey's! with plenty of picnic tables. Food mostly fresh and cooked promptly to order, described by knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff - and you can get Harvey's! Score 8/10 Three Oaks Three Oaks Nr Hastings East Sussex Quiet Village pub serving real Ales and bar food. Score 5/10 The Two Sawyers Pett Rd, Pett, Hastings, East Sussex Had Sunday Lunch here best part of the meal was the Horseradish Sauce Score 2/10
